Minister

Travis Akins is our minister serving in all areas of leadership, planning and visioning for Heritage while also preaching and teaching. Previously, Travis was the Young Adults Minister for our planting church Memorial Road. He served there for 5 1/2 years before transitioning to Heritage full-time in the Summer of 2018.

Before moving to Edmond, Travis served as the Preaching Minister at the North Main Church of Christ in Winters, Texas. His first ministry was as the Youth Minister for the Pleasant Ridge Church of Christ in Arlington, Texas. He received his BA in Youth and Family Ministry and his MA in Christian Ministry from Abilene Christian University.

Travis and Laura have been married for 17 years spending their entire adult lives in congregational ministry. They have four kids- three daughters, Reese (15), Lucy (13) and Scout (7); and one son, Wiley (9). Their family has also worked with the Lilyfield Christian Adoption and Foster Care agency as foster parents for over ten years.

Jeff and Sherry Bingham

Jeff and Sherry have been married for over 33 years and have three grown children, Hannah, Alec, and Becca. They enjoy working with Connections Groups and member engagement, and assisting with various administrative tasks needed by the church community.

Mark and Dawn Doberenz

Mark and Dawn have been married for almost 28 years. They have two adult sons. Jake lives here in Edmond and Kenny lives in Nashville. Mark and Dawn enjoy being involved in teaching, hospitality, connecting with others and sharing Jesus with the community.

Jon and Tami Fennel

Jon and Tami Fennel have been married for 30 years and have two grown daughters McKenzie and Emma. McKenzie is a paramedic in Arkansas and Emma is veterinary technician in Edmond. Jon and Tami enjoy teaching kids Bible classes and serving through various church activities.

David and Debbie Kern

David and Debbie have been married for 47 years. They have two children, Bobby and Amanda and two grandchildren, Lydia and Josiah (who also attend Heritage). They enjoy being in connection groups.

Mike and Angela Marshall

Mike and Angela have been married for 32 years. They have two grown boys and three grandchildren. Jordan is a construction executive for a local road contractor, and Garrett is a youth minister at the Westside congregation in Norman OK. Mike and Angela enjoy working with kids of all ages and having people in their home.

Tom and Rita Snider

Tom and Rita have been married for 43 years and have four grown children, Kent Snider, Kiala Powell, Rachel Coulter, and Ryli Massey. They also have six grandchildren. Tom and Rita have enjoyed being a part of this growing congregation and working with connection groups, security, and building and grounds.
