Hello to our Guests

Welcome to the Heritage Church! We are thankful you are spending part of your Sunday with us. We strive to be good neighbors where every person and every story are welcome.

We are worshiping outside for the foreseeable future. We are grateful to EPS for allowing us to utilize the parking lot during this time. Our hope is to be back inside the school building at some point.

Thank you for your presence as we join together in this place and in heart to praise our Father. Our worship will include opportunities of praise, communion and a time in God's Word. Prepackaged all in one communion cups are available before worship by the trailer stage.

If there are questions or needs in regard to our church family, please don’t hesitate to contact our minister Travis Akins (travis@edmondheritage.church).

TUNE TO 88.3 FM

if you'd like to stay in your car

THE PARKING LOT

Heritage Outdoors is a blend of our previous Drive-in worships and a "tailgate" worship. We will both broadcast worship over the FM frequency of 88.3 and over speakers to the parking lot. You have a choice to stay in your car or bring your own chairs or blanket to sit outside for worship. Here is what you need to know:

  • PARK EVERY OTHER SPOT. As you arrive, please be sure to leave space between you and others parked.
  • FACE COVERING IS REQUIRED OUTSIDE OF YOUR PARKING SPOT. A requirement of EPS is that all 1st graders and older wear a face covering when you leave your parking spot.
  • SET UP IN OR CLOSE TO YOUR SPOT. If you'd like to worship outdoors, do your best to set up as close to your parking spot as you can. However, we know it may be difficult to fit. It's better to go "wide" with your set up than have your chairs in the drive way of cars. You should have spots on both sides of you with no cars to help our distancing.
  • SOCIAL DISTANT GATHERING IS OK. You may leave your parking spot, but please be sure you are wearing a face covering and remaining 6ft between others.
  • THERE ARE NO RESTROOMS. As before, we do no have access to the building and there will be no restrooms available.
  • WORSHIP WILL BE NO LONGER THAN AN HOUR. Since it's August and we're outdoors plus no access to restrooms, we are striving to keep worship at no more than one hour long. Huddles will follow worship and they will last no more than 15 minutes.
  • COMMUNION WILL BE AVAILABLE. There will be prepackaged all in one communion cups available before worship. The communion pick up table will be available by the trailer stage. There will be no passing of communion so be sure to grab it before 9 a.m. You are encouraged to bring your own communion. A simple bread recipe can be found HERE. Our communion time will have focusing thoughts and scripture and ONE prayer will be led for BOTH the bread and juice.
  • DON'T IMMEDIATELY DRIVE AWAY WHEN WORSHIP IS OVER. This is a safety issue more than anything else. After worship we will have Huddles beginning to gather. There will be folks walking from their cars and parking spots to their huddles. If you are not comfortable joining a Huddle, please wait a few moments before driving away so we can keep the parking lot and those walking to Huddles as safe as possible.

COMMUNION

Next to the trailer stage is a table with prepackaged communion cups. They will have been placed on this table and arranged and separated to ensure they are not touching and spaced enough to ensure no inadvertent touch by someone picking another one up. You may pick one up for yourself and other baptized participants in your family. We ask that no one under the age of 13 approach this table and pick up communion cups.

Our communion practice will be a time of thoughts and scripture to help prepare our hearts and minds to participate. After which there will be ONE prayer for both the bread and the cup.

Sunday morning Huddles are the newest addition to our weekly schedule. Huddles are socially safe gatherings that will focus on scripture, encouragement and prayer in 15 minutes. Huddles will take place immediately following outdoor worship in the Heritage Elementary parking lot. You can expect Huddles to be age focused with most gatherings safely in the drive around behind the trailer stage, in front of the school.

Here are the Huddles being offered:

2 year olds through Kindergarten. This Huddle will require one parent to join their child(ren). We are asking this to begin Huddles and at least through the month of August as we adjust to social distancing together.

1st through 5th grade. Our JourneyLand Huddle will require masks as we abide by the rules set by EPS.

6th-12th grade. Heritage Youth Group. Face coverings are required.

Adults. If you have a child younger than 2 or not ready for your child to join a Huddle, please have them join you here. Face coverings are required.

To Our Guests

Heritage community exists out of a dream to be God’s church for north Edmond. We hope this is a place you can ask questions, find friends and experience a growing relationship with God. This is a family where people belong.

We own 9.5 acres just around the corner from here at 4900 North Broadway. We are in the stages of raising funds and designing our first church home.

SOCIAL DISTANCING AT CHURCH

The term "social distancing" is now part of our daily vernacular. And now it will be a part of our in-person worship. We know social distancing and masks will make church look and feel different, but we must learn and adapt and keep each other safe.

Please do not shake hands. Do not hug. Do your best to stay six feet apart from people not in your family. This may feel weird in a church setting. But, these are practices that are mindful of others -- neighborly acts in an unusual time. As counter as it may seem in a church setting, we must practice them.

Face coverings are required by 1st graders and older outside of your parking spot. In all things and in all actions, let's love one another and be mindful of one another as we navigate these days.

Giving is an experience of grace and partnership with God. It is also a dynamic act of worship in which one expresses love for others and gratitude toward the Lord. The Bible teaches us that, “Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.” (2 Corinthians 9:7-8) We believe that God both blesses and empowers our generosity.

Dream of a church home at 4900 N. Broadway. Imagine a place where God’s love is experienced and known — a place where everyone feels at home.  Let’s dream of a place where souls are saved and lives are transformed; a place where a community worships, prays, and roots for each other.

Heritage Church is that place. And 4900 N. Broadway is the dream. The 4900 Campaign asks every member at Heritage to give above and beyond regular contribution so we can build our first church home. Let’s make this dream a reality.
