Finding a church home is a big decision, and we do not want it to feel frustrating or complicated. We want to help every guest clearly see the next steps toward becoming an active part of a church community, whether here at Heritage or elsewhere.

CONNECT

Start by simply being present and connecting with people. Take time to get to know the community and the individuals who make it up. Relationships are where a church becomes more than a place you attend — it becomes a people you belong to.

Whether here or in any church community, real understanding comes through shared time, conversation and life together. We encourage you to linger, ask questions and allow space for genuine connection as you discern where God is leading you.

HELLO CLASS

Hello Class is an opportunity to ask questions and learn more about where Heritage has been and where we are going. It is a relaxed setting designed to help you understand our story, our mission and the heart behind what we do as a church.

Whether you are brand new or have been around for a while, this class gives you space to listen, share and explore what it might look like to take your next steps in discovering your next church family.

MEMBERSHIP

When you have had time to connect, attended the Hello Class and sense you are ready to take the next step, we invite you to visit with our minister, Travis Akins, or any of our shepherds. They would be glad to listen, answer questions and walk with you as you discern what commitment and belonging look like for you and your family.

As part of becoming a church family, we value introducing new members to the Heritage congregation during a future time of worship. It is a meaningful way for us to celebrate what God is doing and to publicly welcome one another into shared life and ministry. At the same time, we want to be sensitive to each person’s comfort level and preferences, and we are always glad to talk through what feels best for you.

We are truly thankful for the opportunity to partner together in ministry and in the shared life of this community.
"The human body has many parts, but the many parts make up one whole body. So it is with the body of Christ." (1 Corinthians 12:12)

Being a part of Heritage means making the choice to be a part of a bigger whole/community. Being a part of a community is being a part of a family. It's important! We are not filling a building, we are a body that is identifying new limbs and organs (members)- people belonging to the whole.

If you're ready to make Heritage your church home, please let us know through this form.

At Heritage, we want to celebrate and bless you and Heritage with a simple introduction on a Sunday. Typically, we invite our new members to stand where they are sitting. This helps give faces to name. And then we usually ask Heritage to surround you and your family as one of our Shepherds or minister pray blessing over you and Heritage for our future of ministry and service together.
