Welcome to a special day — a snow day at Heritage.
The schedule and routine may feel off today, but our purpose doesn’t have to be. While it’s cold and snowy outside, this is a unique opportunity for worship at home — a moment for families to slow down, connect and intentionally turn their attention toward God together.
This page is here to help you do just that. Below you’ll find video clips, links and a downloadable PDF with simple resources designed to guide your family in meaningful spiritual focus on this snow day.
Let this be a day of warmth in your home, reflection in your hearts and worship together as a family.

If you'd like a self guided worship focus, this PDF is for you. It allows for you to choose activity and interaction that best suits your family. The focus is Jesus' Sermon on the Mount where reflection, discussion and practice are encouraged. The PDF also gives communion guidance for you to share together.

You are encouraged to gather with your family and those you are at home with to remember and proclaim the good news of Jesus through bread and juice. You may just have communion bread and grape juice readily available. Here are some hacks to get you ready for a snow day communion.
How to make unleavened bread at home:
If you're out of grape juice at home. It's ok. Remember, the time together focused on Christ is the most important aspect. You can grab another juice or even just water. Seriously, it's ok.

Communion Thoughts
If you'd like a guided time of communion, here is a video of communion thoughts led by Brandon Scharrer in a recent worship at Heritage.

If you'd like to sing together, below is a link to a Praise and Harmony playlist of worship songs with the words and music on screen. It's a great resource to help overcome the "discomfort" you and others may feel singing in a small group or space that you normally don't sing in.
Here is another Praise and Harmony option. This playlist doesn't have the music and lyrics with them, but there are many familiar worship songs you can explore and choose.

If you're looking for a message from God's Word, here are messages from our ongoing school year message series "On the Mount." We suggest any one of these messages for a meaningful part of your snow day worship, even if you are re-visiting a message heard before. You can never spend too much time on the mount!
If you're uncertain which one to go with, we suggest the second one on this list (January 11) where the entire Sermon on the Mount is recited. A terrific place to sit and hear Jesus' words.
